Safeguarding Policy
The leadership of Hope Church Bedlington recognises the importance of its ministry / work with children and vulnerable adults, and its responsibility to protect everyone entrusted to its care.
It is the policy of Hope Church Bedlington that:
No child or vulnerable adult should come to harm or be placed at any undue risk of harm as a result of their involvement or engagement with Hope Church Bedlington, its activities or workers.
Any incidences, allegations or concerns about the safety or welfare of a child or vulnerable adult are correctly managed and reported.
Events or activities run by Hope Church Bedlington for children or vulnerable adults are led and managed in such a way so as to minimise the possibility of any harm or abuse occurring.
A Safe Recruitment process is adopted which includes carrying out DBS checks on employees and volunteers working with children and adults with care and support needs.
Workers are given a copy of the Safeguarding Children and / or Safeguarding Vulnerable Adults Policy and are expected to be familiar with it, and training is provided to workers at reasonable intervals.
Events or activities run by Hope Church Bedlington for children or vulnerable adults are led and managed in such a way so as to minimise the possibility of a false or malicious allegation against a Hope Church Bedlington worker.
