An Unusual Christmas List

Passage: Matthew 1:1-17

The Christmas stories we have in the Bible (in the books of Matthew, Luke and John) all start in unusual ways. This week we looked at the unusual way Matthew starts his "nativity" - it starts with a long list of names! Presenting Jesus' family tree might seem like an odd way to start the Christmas story but in this message we discover that it is actually something with great significance for our lives today. We learn that with Jesus our past does not have to determine our future, that God loves to include unlikely people in his plans and purposes and that if we want lives full of purpose, freedom and joy we need to make them all about Jesus.
