Looking at the experience of Isaiah, we note the three basis requirements for effective mission. Firstly, to have a deep awareness of God's holiness, and our own sin in contrast. Secondly, to have a profound understanding of the grace of God, knowing beyond a shadow of doubt that our sin has been dealt with. And thirdly, to know something of the Father's heart which aches to reach those that don't yet know him. Lastly we consider that in this new covenant age, God's call is more of a plural call to the Church as a whole; we need to respond together by saying "Hear we are - send us"!
