Why Am I A Christian?
Acts 18:4 | 2 Timothy 1:12 | 1 Corinthians 15:14-19
The Apostle Peter tells us to always be ready to give a reason for the faith that is within us (1 Peter 3:15). However, many of us, if asked to explain why we are a Christian, simply divert to saying how we became a Christian. Whilst it’s really important to be able to give our own personal testimony, we also need to have a reason, so we are not living from experience alone. As Dennis gives his own rationale, looking at each of the questions Is there a God, Who is Jesus, Did Jesus rise from the dead, and What does this mean, he challenges us to consider how we would explain our own reason for being a Christian, and asks if we are ready to do so. And he asks those who are still not sure where they stand with Jesus to identify which part of his logic they feel unable to agree with, to re-examine the case for Jesus with open eyes, and not to simply put off thinking about it and making a decision.
